There is just something about the way this author writes that appeals to me so much. I have enjoyed every book in this series so far (this is the third). Her style is on the quirky side but very entertaining.

Seeing as I am the first to review I'll give a brief summary. Lady Alana sees ghosts (a bit like 6th Sense) and is about to be betrothed to Hoel MacDonald. She receives a message to visit a sick member of her clan and she goes alone (through a set of particular circumstances) to see this woman, as she is her clan's healer. She is also her uncle's heir, he is the Laird and anyone she marries will eventually become the Laird of the Cameron clan. She ends up on MacNeill lands where she is seen by our hero Dougald and taken back to the MacNeill Laird, James. Dougald has always been gorgeous and I loved him in The Accidental Highland Hero. He is even better in this book.

Dougald has the reputation of being a rake but it is exaggerated in my opinion, he is just such a lovable guy and he falls for the h instantly. James decides they need to marry because she was compromised by being alone with him and his men for 2 days. And from there our story goes on to solve the mystery of her dad's death as well as her brothers.

If you are a real romantic like me and like the H and H to marry first, and if you like that there is no big misunderstanding and simply a lovely story, then this is the book for you. If you haven't read the other books, you don't need to but you are missing out. The first is Winning the Highlander's Heart and the second is The Accidental Highland Hero. All three books are in my favourites folder on my Kindle!
